And, so it begins

Today we'll hit the road for Georgia and spend two days there and then move onto Florida. =)

This will be a three week trip, and I don't know if during any of that time I'll have internet! *gasp!*

But I will try to do AT LEAST Monday's Minutes. ;) And maybe post an update or two... Hopefully....

And I'll try to come on and post your comments!!

But, sadly, it will only happen if there is internet.

(there better be...)

Monday's Minutes

This week I will be doing it based on this prompt: Write a passage using these items: pie, clock, and key.

“Jacey, what do you think you’re doing?” I shout. Why does that girl do things like this?
“Sor-ry, Kelsey. Didn’t mean to do something like this.” She waves towards the broken clock on the floor.
“Well, somehow you did it again.” I shake my head.
“Can I go help Miss Rebkah make pie,” And there she goes again. Trying to get out of trouble. It’s not going to work this time.
“No, you can go and clean all of the keys in the closet,” I fold my arms.
“But—”
“No buts, Jacey,” I point towards the hall.
She stomps down the hall and stops in front of the hall closet. I watch her open the door and see all of the keys spill on to the floor.
I try not to snicker, but it escapes anyway.
I see her bangs fly up in the air as she bends over.
Finally I turn away from her and walk into the kitchen. I smell those finished pies that she wanted to help make.
“Hello Miss Rebkah,” I wave at our cook.
She gives me her look for calling her miss, “Hello Kelsey. Here for the pies, are you?”
“Maybe,” I shrug.
She gives me another look.
“Ok, maybe I am.” I smile.
I hear a shriek from the hallway. What…?
I run out of the kitchen and into the hall. Jacey stands against the wall across from the closet door. She’s on one leg with huge eyes.
“Jacey, what’s wrong?” I ask.
As I step closer, I see that she’s shivering all over. She points into the closet.
Oh no.
I come closer, “Go to the kitchen, now.”
She runs down the hall and into the kitchen.
I look into the closet, I was right. There’s the portal into her time.

Hold Me

"Hold Me"
(featuring tobyMac)

I love, I love, I love, I love the way you hold me
I love, I love, I love, I love the way you hold me
I love, I love, I love, I love the way you hold me
I love, I love, I love, I love the way you, the way you

I've had a long day, I just wanna relax
Don't have time for my friends, no time to chit chat
Problems at my job, wonderin' what to do
I know I should be working but I'm thinking of you and

Just when I feel this crazy world is gonna bring me down
That's when your smile comes around

Oh, I love the way you hold me, by my side you'll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love the way you hold me, in your arms I'll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way

I love you more than the words in my brain can express
I can't imagine even loving you less

Lord, I love the way you hold me
Whoa, oh, I love the way you hold me
Whoa, oh

Well ya, took my day and you flipped it around
Calmed the tidal wave and put my feet on the ground
Forever in my heart, always on my mind
It's crazy how I think about you all of the time

And just when I think I'm 'bout to figure you out
You make me wanna sing and shout

I love the way you hold me, by my side you'll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love the way you hold me, in your arms I'll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way

I love you more than the words in my brain can express
I can't imagine even loving you less

Lord, I love the way you hold me
Whoa, oh, I love the way you hold me
Whoa, oh

I'm so grateful and thankful for all you've done
Wish I could tell you in a short story or poem
But all I have is my voice and this guitar
And you have my heart

Oh, I love the way you hold me, by my side you'll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love the way you hold me, in your arms I'll always be
You take each and every day, every day, every

I love the way you hold me, by my side you'll always be
You take each and every day oh-so-special
I love the way you hold me, in your arms I'll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way

I love you more than the words in my brain can express
I can't imagine even loving you less

Lord, I love the way you hold me
Whoa, oh, I love the way you hold me
Whoa, oh
Oh, I love

I love, I love, I love, I love the way you hold me
I love, I love, I love, I love the way you hold me
I love, I love, I love, I love the way you hold me, hold me, hold me

I love the way You hold me

Sick. Elleck

I went through this sick-for-one-day-thing. I haven't been sick for a long time and I did not like it one. Bit.

I slept for probably more than half the day, and even while I was watching TV I just blinked and was sleeping. Other than that I had a really high temperature and was really, really cold.

Like, I know I've said that I have been really, really cold recently. But this kind of cold was freezing cold. And then when i was awake and under all those blankets, it was way too hot. Then I'd come out from under the blankets and it was way too cold. So I decided to come downstairs without a blanket.

Pizza and applesauce are some awesome foods.

It's all I ate yesterday. *hides face* I skipped breakfast and lunch. Ate some applesauce for snack. And pizza and more applesauce when I was feeling better at dinner with my grandparents. =)

Anyway, today I feel fantastic!! =D And I'm very happy I do.

Hope none of ya'll have been sick. =P

MMC

I am doing the prompt from this picture:

I looked around. No one was anywhere. Just me. All alone.
Again.
I sighed. I hated being alone. I wanted to go somewhere with someone. I wanted to be a normal person. I wanted to be down there on the earth. Instead of up here in some fantasy world all alone.
I sighed again. The swing I was stuck on burned my hands. It stung to move.
When I looked down at the river again, I noticed that instead of it still being twelve inches beneath me, it was half that distance.
I stared at it longer, and the longer I did so, the higher it came up.
Soon I realized that I had to stand up. Even if it hurt. And I had to do it now.
I moved gently to where I was standing on the burlap ropes above the rising water.
Looking around again, I saw something move in the trees. A flicker of hope rushed through me.
“Hello?” I called out.
The movement stopped. But, after a few minutes, it started again. Moving closer and closer, to me.
Even with the power I had, it came closer to me.
I smiled when I saw it at the edge of the river. It was a woman. A real woman.
She seemed strange in a way. She wore clothes to match the trees and dirt. Her face was streaked with mud. But her eyes caught me. They were full of fear.
“Hello,” I said.
“Get out of here. I can’t do it,” She turned away, “And hurry up.”
“What, why?” I said.
“They’re coming for you. And if you don’t want to be caught, you better hurry up.”
She thought I could get out of this? She was wrong.

Link-Up

Hey ya'll, Ashley over at [insert title here] is giving away a book. Now I won't tell you which one, but it's a must read. Everyone agrees. ;)

This is the link up that I am participating in:

5 of Your Favorite Book Characters

  • Spencer
I don't know how many of ya'll know, but I loved Jill Williamson's The New Recruit so MUCH!!! Spencer was my favorite, the brat. ;) If you have not read the book, I might need to strangle you. (haha, that was a joke.)
  • Charlie West
Currently, I am still reading the series The Long Way Home by Andrew Klavan. It's brilliant. Charlie is such a wonderful person. Christian, sees the good, and gosh, if I name everything it'll go on forever!! But he's awesome and you have to read the books to understand why. =)
  • Sayaka
I've realized that two out of three of my favorite characters start out as the brats. Yes, Sayaka STARTS OUT as one, but then turns into a good Charlie West. =) She's awesome and so is her book, Red Sun Blue Earth by Sienna North.
  • Gabrielle Sweet (Ellie Sweet)
Ellie is so great! She's a fantastic book character. And if you don't believe go find her in The Revised Life of Ellie Sweet and The Unlikely Debut of Ellie Sweet by Stephanie Morrill. And if you still don't believe me I'll give you a virtual smack. ;) Ellie really is super sweet! =)
  • Olivia
She is from The Silent Governess by Julie Klassen (OUTSTANDING book, by the way) and is so awesome. She's wonderful. Amazing. She watches out for the two children, of which adore her, and keeps them safe. She helps them, and gosh, she's just so awesome.

Ok, those were my five favorite book characters. =) Hope ya'll enjoyed!!

Some Travel Photos of Exhausted People (Don't Look) [Don't listen to my fingers and what they say type]

Hello. We are exhausted. Actually, I am no longer. *grins* Adjusted, with a few naps. BUT, I STAYED AWAKE ALL DAY YESTERDAY.  =D *throws confetti in the air*

Anyway, keep reading/flipping through/looking at your own risk. ;)

One last pix with my sweet girl, Brownie. =)

Sickie. Elleck. =P

Mrs. P went and got our seats for us at the airport! Plus she made arrangements with some drivers in Java for us! She's wonderful!! =)

Jeremy with one of the ladies that was checking our baggage etc.

Here we are! 5 out of 6 of us, anyway

BEFORE WE WERE ON THE PLANE, Jeremy had lipstick on both of his cheeks. =)

This is what I spent a majority of my time doing. Listening to a bunch of Disney songs ( I know, shocking...) and working on a bracelet.

Emily and three of the stewardesses =)

ROTIBOY IS AWESOME. I know I'm weird, but these things WERE SO STINKING GOOD!!!!

BURGER KING!!!

Yes, I'm not afraid to show some really awkward pictures of me

Keeping Jeremy occupied as we waited to get our seats for the flight to Japan

My mom braided Emily and Jenny's hair because it gets so static-y on the plane.

Keeping ourselves occupied

Krispy Kreme!!! I was SHOCKED to see this place in Java, sadly, we did not buy one *sobs*

Cutie =)

Ditto

Double ditto. =)

This was the plane we were to sleep on. I slept on it, and Jenny slept for sure. I'm not quite sure about anyone else...

Jeremy sitting next to my mom for a moment

Isn't this sunrise gorgeous??

Welcome to Japan

Walking down all of these walking escalator things. =)

I fell asleep under this thing in the airport waiting area. It felt so good under there!!

This is me (shocking, I know) and one of the flight stewardesses. She was SO NICE!

This is in Chicago =) Buzz wasn't in the photo

TENNESSEE AT LAST!!! I don't have all the pictures, but this is of all the cousins. Note that Jenny is extremely shy and Jeremy DID NOT want to stand with me in between his cousin and cousin-in-law (my cousin's husband)

"Get me out of here" Jeremy WAS ACTUALLY IN HIS ARMS. Literally. First time meeting him in his WHOLE LIFE, but he went to my cousin!!

Taco Bell was the first dinner we ate! YUM!!!

My mom's first time going to Walmart. (My aunt is in the picture BTW)

Haircuts, Buzz wanted one that looked like Tin Tin. There he and Tin Tin are. =)

NOTE: I am not actually asleep, I was just laying on the seatbelt with my eyes closed (that's actually the truth)

Two of the boy cousins and my two brothers being... well, boys.

Girls!
And that is all of which I am willing to share. ;) The rest of those arrival pix will be coming soon! =)

He is Risen

Your turn...

=) Happy Easter to all of ya'll! =D

This is our first Easter in America for FOUR YEARS. ?! Easter 2011 was our FIRST SUNDAY in Indonesia--just like now! Easter 2014 is on the FIRST SUNDAY we're HERE!! =D

Here's a pix or two from last year's Easter:

I woke up about 3 or 4 AM and heard these people singing. Sadly, you can't see anything, but these people were people from a church coming out and singing about Jesus. =) It was wonderful! They were all carrying torches (I can't remember why...)

This is us, not the greatest picture ever, but not the worst. *winks*

Resurrection Cookies! Love these things! =)
Today, we are going to my cousin's house (yes, HER house) for lunch and an egg hunt. I think all of my extended family will be there *brow furrows* "THINKS".

We're going to the church that is letting us stay in their house this morning. It surprises me so when my mom said that the service we are going to starts at 11 and ends at 12. o.O In Papua, the service starts at 9:30 and ends anywhere between 11 and 11:30. =)

(and btw, I WILL POST ARRIVAL AND TRAVEL PIX MAYBE RIGHT AFTER THIS POST! =) )

Cold, cold, cold, cold, cold

This is so accurate. Except for the fact that it hasn't snowed and it's only like 65 degrees outside.

I thought when we first arrived in Chicago, "The cold never bothered me anyway," right?

Um, then I walked into the airport.

Anna's reaction is just so perfect. =)

*grins* My extended family act like they're going to hit us because of how cold we think it is. ;)

They all say, "You should've been here through the winter,"

Thank the heavens that I wasn't! ;)

Burger King

Java is quite amazing.

It's been over a year, about 16 months, since the last time I came to Java. While I was in Papua I thought I wasn't missing out on much.

Ok, then I came here. Let me name some of the restaurants that are here:

--Burger King *faints*
--Carl Jr. (Hardy's)
--Starbucks
--Dominoes Pizza
--Pizza Hut (NOT as amazing as Dominoes, Pizza Hut is in Papua)
--CHILIES

I want to eat at Chilies, but it's to expensive. DX

BUT, last night we ate at Burger King and that's what we're getting for lunch.

Seriously ya'll, those burgers are the most amazing burgers  EVER. Ok, that's probably not true, but, ya'll they are amazing.

John couldn't eat all of his Whopper last night because of how our stomachs have changed (and probably because he just recovered from something. (what, no idea.)

ok, gotta go. =P maybe the next post will be from america. ;) no longer any guarantees! ;)

"Aduuuh, Jauh!!"

We don't have a car and we are staying in a guesthouse, so we have to go to malls to eat dinner. And how do we get there?

We ride in a taxi.

We don't fit in one taxi, so we take two. Girls in one, boys in another.

The girls' taxi driver on the way home seemed silent, until my mom started talking to him. =)  Most of this conversation has been translated into English. =)

"Where are you from?" The taxi driver continued to drive several words into the conversation.
"We're originally from America, but right now we live in Papua." My mom replied.
"Aduuuuhh, jauh!!"

This is just a little highlight, considering I was about to pass out because of the timezone difference. =P

But, if you have never heard someone from Java/Sumatra say "Aduuuuhh, jauh!!", it is hilarious. =)

And if you're wondering what "aduh jauh" means, it means: "Oh! Far!"

I love the way Indonesians talk. =) And I love how they express their words even more. =)

Indonesia's awesome. Gonna' miss this place so much! =)

Next blog post will probably be posted from America!! (After several days =P ) (They'll probably also be of some tired people who are *trying* to recover from jet-lag. ;) )

Monday's Minutes Challenge

Yes, I know I'm traveling. Yes, I do know where I am traveling to. BUT, that will NOT stop me from doing Monday's Minutes. It can't. =)

As for a mini-update, we survived the flight from Papua to Java. And let me tell you, I'm pretty sure that was the best flight from/to Papua. The food must've been the best plane food ever. I even ate Jenny's veggies and chicken because she wouldn't. =)

John is definitely better. *winks* Late tonight, we board the plane for Japan, we won't stop traveling then until we land in Tennessee. Where all of our family is (just about all of it is), and I CANNOT WAIT!! =D

Anyway, on to the Monday's Minutes Challenge!
It was quite hard for me to decided between the picture prompt or the sentence prompt, but I decided to do the picture. I will write something to go with the picture below:

I bent my head, was I really to die tonight?
The sea below me was bronze. The sun and clouds above me matched. It was beautiful, really, except for the fact that I was to die.
“Do you wish to tell the truth now, Abriana?”
I looked over my shoulder at him. He raised the ax a bit higher to where the sun caught it, blinding my sight.
“I have told you the truth the whole time. I. Didn’t. Do. It.” I clenched my jaw.
“Your choice, Abriana. But please trust me when I say that it is such a waste to lose you.” He looked almost saddened.
I bowed my head again, “Let Thy will come, Lord Jesus.”
I heard him takes several steps towards me and around me before he stopped by my side.
I thought a moment, what should my last words be? ‘I didn’t do’? ‘Why don’t you listen to me’? Should I even have any last words right now? No, I shouldn’t.
I thought of everything that had happened in my life, should I quote one of those things?
Right then, and right there, I decided something. I looked up, I saw him raise the ax high above my head, ready to bring it down on my neck.
I had to move fast. When it was coming down, I moved in a flash. I kicked it out of his hand to the bronze water below.
While he was still caught in a shock, I swung on my heel and started to run for my life. Of all days, why did I choose to wear a dress?

Then tomorrow afternoon, we board the plane that will take us to Japan, then Chicago, then to our final destination in Tennessee where our family will be on Wednesday! =D BUT, it will feel like Thursday to us!! =D LOL.

Anyway, i think my brother is well again. He's talking. And that means that he must be well. The house was quite quiet yesterday when he was sick.

Anyway, thought I'd tell ya'll! =) It's 5:23 here and at 8:00 our plane is supposed to be leaving. =)

Lose My Soul

"Lose My Soul"
(feat. Kirk Franklin, Mandisa)

Man I wanna tell you all something, Man.
Man I'm not gonna let these material thing's, get in my way, ya'll.
I'm trying to get somewhere.
I'm trying to get somewhere,
Thats real and pure and true and eternal.

Father God, I am clay in your hands,
Help me to stay that way through all life's demands,
'Cause they chip and they nag and they pull at me,
And every little thing I make up my mind to be,
Like I'm gonna be a daddy whose in the mix,
And I'm gonna be a husband who stays legit,
And I pray that I'm an artist who rises above,
The road that is wide and filled with self love,
Everything that I see draws me,
Though it's only in You that I can truly see that its a feast for the eyes- a low blow to purpose.
And I'm a little kid at a three ring circus.

I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
Don't wanna walk away, let me hear the people say.
I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
Don't wanna walk away, let me hear the people say.

(Mr. Franklin, Step up to the mic sir)

The paparazzi flashes, and that they think that it's you,
But they don't know that who you are is not what you do,
True, we get it twisted when we peak at the charts,
Yo before we part from the start,
Where's your heart?
You a pimp, hustler?
Tell me what's your title,
America has no more stars, now we call them idols,
You sit idle, While we teach prosperity,
The first thing to prosper should be inside of me.
We're free...
Not because of 22's on the range,
But Christ came in range, we said yes now we changed,
Not the same, even though I made a fall,
Since I got that call, no more Saul, now I'm Paul.
(YEP!)

I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
Don't wanna walk away, let me hear the people say.
I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
Don't wanna walk away, let me hear the people say.
Don't wanna walk away,
Don't wanna walk away

How do I sense the tide that's rising?
De-sensitizing me from living in light of eternity,
How do I sense the tide that's rising?
It's hypnotizing me from living in light of eternity,
How do I sense the tide that's rising?
De-sensitizing me from living in light of eternity.

(Lord what we gonna do,We're relying on you,
all eyes are on you Lord,
all eyes are on you, all eyes are on you Jesus.)

I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
Don't wanna walk away, let me hear the people say.
(Don't let me lose my soul, my soul.)
I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
(This is my honesty, Father, won't you cover me.)
I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
(Don't wanna walk away, and all those people say)
I don't want to gain the whole world, and lose my soul,
(Don't wanna lose, I don't wanna lose my soul.)

Lord forgive us when we get consumed by the things of this world,
That fight for our love, and our passion,
As our eyes are open wide and on you.
Grant us the privilege of your world view,
And may your kingdom be, what wakes us up, and lays us down.

(Hallelujah, Don't wanna lose our soul,
No, Don't wanna lose my soul.)

Hey excuse me,
I'm looking for the after party,
Toby,
Ha ha, yeah, last door on the left, you'll hear it.
Thanks,
No problem.

Don't let me lose my soul, I never wanna walk away,
I don't wanna lose my soul,
No, no, no.
Don't let me, don't let me, lose my soul,
I don't wanna walk away,
Don't let me walk away,
Na na na na no,
Don't let me lose, my soul,
I'm never gonna walk away.

I do NOT want to gain the WHOLE WORLD and lose my soul.

BACK!!

HEY!

I'm back!! What do you think of the design?!??! I for one, absolutely adore it! =) But it's ok if you don't ;)

ANYWAY, IN 2 DAYS I BOARD THE PLANE FOR AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAAAAHH!!!! I'm so freaked out!!! But, gonna love the ride (hopefully Jeremy will like it too!! *crosses fingers* )

Ok, so that means in FIVE DAYS I land in AMERICA!!! ANNNND I will get to see my family again!!! Yay!!

I can't wait! =D

And pictures will come more frequent on here. ;)

Do Everything

Do Everything by Steven Curtis Chapman

"Do Everything"

Your picking up toys on the living room floor for the fifteenth time today
Matching up socks
Sweeping up lost cheerios that got away

You put a baby on your hip
Color on your lips and head out the door

While I may not know you,
I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?

Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
[CHORUS]
As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you,
To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

[VERSE]
Maybe your that guy with the suit and tie
Maybe your shirt says your name

You may be hooking up mergers
Cooking up burgers
But at the end of the day

Little stuff
Big stuff
In between stuff
God sees it all the same

While I may not know you
I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?
Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you
To do

Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every thing you do

[BRIDGE]
Maybe your sitting in math class
Or maybe on a mission in the Congo
Or maybe your working at the office
Singing along with the radio

Maybe your a down and out rock star
Or feeding orphans in the Myanmar
Anywhere and everywhere that you are

Whatever you do
It all matters
So do what you do
Don't ever forget

To do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause He made you
To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace

As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you
To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

In every little thing you do
In every little thing you do

Do everything for the glory of God.
