*PLEASE READ THIS POST AND PLEASE DO NOT PUKE*
*laughs* I'm not sure you really want to know. But, I'll tell you the story behind it LOL
Yesterday (my Saturday) afternoon was Youth Group. And we were split into teams to do four different challenges--two mind, one physical, and one food.
The mind challenges were kinds hard, they were the ones that my team did first. My team had five people (including myself) and we had to get across about 30 feet of land on four boards. Doesn't sound too hard right? Well, read that again
we only had four boards. And there were five people. So we had to keep them moving up.
Another hard part was that the leader of my team got his mouth taped shut. And I got blindfolded. Just to make it a little extra hard. *winks* We only made it about half way with falling on the ground twice (did i mention that we weren't allowed to touch the ground???) It was kinda hard...
Then the next mind challenge we had was 10 or 20 questions about Papua. They were
hard I didn't know anyone of them--except that Papua used to be called Irian Jaya, and we all got that the first time.
Then the third challenge was the food one. It was my all time favorite. =) *grins* You'll find out what I ate sooner or later (later...)
Just two things, before we were doing the food challenge someone shouted how disgusting it was. The only other girl that was on my time said that we had to be eating papeda--she said that she could eat it because she
loves it
plain. I might have grossed out there for a moment. And the other thing is that before he gave the food to us, Mr. B said that everything he fed us could be bought locally in our town.
So of course we were all like, "Oh, well then it can't be
that bad,". Then Mr. B said our team had one knife and one fork and only one of us could eat the food or all of us. The only other girl on my team decided that we all were gonna eat it.
We received the food, if you could call it that. All of us started eating it with our hands (you know, Indonesian Style =) ) except one guy, he got the fork and knife.
Oops, I forgot one thing, we either got to see what were eating before or after. We decided after. (good thing too)
The first thing we ate looked like a piece of chicken and tofu mixed together. We ate it all and decided that it was pretty good.
Then we moved onto something that looked satéd. It was ok, but not totally great like the last thing had been.
The last thing we ate was this big hunk of stuff that looked like cartilage. Neither was that fantastic, but I ate about 2/3 of it because the
three boys on my team grossed out and wouldn't eat anymore.
BUT. Before I finished eating the cartilage stuff, we all decided we wanted to know what it was. Here's the list Mr. B showed us.
- Cow Foot Tendons
- Chicken Liver
- Cow Brain
Of course we all kind of grossed out then. But then I got back down on my knees--mind that I still didn't know what I was eating, I just knew that it was one of those three--and I finished eating what I could of the cartilage stuff.
Now, let me tell you which was which. *grins*
- Cartilage Stuff = Cow Foot Tendons
- Satéd stuff = Chicken Liver
- My favorite, and the *raw chicken* of which someone thought it was = COW BRAIN
The next team decided to find out what it was BEFORE they ate it. None of them would TOUCH the food.
Another thing, my team was the only team to finish eating the entire plate of food.
The physical thing we did is too complicated to explain. But anyway, I just really wanted to share what I ate. =)
Oh, another thing. One team (i think the first one to do the food challenge) I'm pretty sure they found out what i was before they ate it, but they actually ate some of it. Because one guy on the team said he felt like a zombie eating the brains. It was like the best thing said about the food the entire afternoon. *grins*
I may have a picture of me eating the tendons later. I know Mr. B took one of me and he said that he had to get it to my dad.
Isn't it wonderful to know that everything I ate could be bought locally? I wanted to take the extra cow brains home, but I don't think there was any. =( Either that or Mr. B disposed of them. =(
SO, in less than two weeks I have eaten papeda, cow foot tendons, cow brain, and chicken liver. =)
that's all, i have to go now...
