Chapter One

Meeting

JUNE?!?!

It CANNOT already be June, CAN IT???? I mean, 1 month ago, 1 month ago, I was still in 6th grade. I am now considered a 7th grader!!!!!!! I mean, it feels like my friend, Alex, handed over her grade to me and it feels like I handed my grade over to Adelaide. Which I guess is true. But I've felt like 7th grade was FOREVER away, but NOW I am a 7th grader.

SO back to the whole post...

JUNE

AMERICA

  • It's the beginning of summer.
  • There are (I think) lots of flowers
  • It's time to go swimming
  • You have NO school for, like, 3 months
PAPUA

  • It's STILL summer
  • There are SOME flowers (like always)
  • It's time to go swimming like we could all year
  • The only difference is that there is no school really

So, WHOA!!!! I'm a 7th grader?????? Sorry, can't get that through my head. ;) But, my friends (the ones in Addie's class) have already gotten it. They're always saying how they are now 6th graders, and I want to go 'hey, you guys are in 5th grade right?' And then I go, 'they're right, I'm a... 7th grader??'

SO......

I CAN"T BELIEVE I'M IN 7TH GRADE!!!!!!!! Ok, sorry.

That seems like it was forever ago and then I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I'M A 7TH GRADER ALREADY!!! Time flies when you're having fun!! And, boy, I am!!! Man, I'm a 7th grader???????? I can't believe it, I'm still 11. That makes me the youngest 7th grader at the moment. My birthday's in August...

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!

Fun post...

1 Year Late Post But..

This is a little late, yeah, like, a year. But we went to the beach yesterday (WILL POST SOON!) so I feel like putting a different beach post first...

So this was April 18, 2012. Our GREAT friends invited us to go to the beach with them because the kids grandparents were visiting so they wanted to go to the beach. This is the 'Boat Beach'.

Doesn't this river look fun? You MUST drive through it.

Yikes

{3 AWESOME Things Happened} [And one not so awesome thing]

New Glasses!!

  1. I got new glasses yesterday!! They are green with some dark gray!! If you’re wondering, YES, they ARE Indonesian glasses. More like Papuan glasses. A friend recommended this shop for them being cheap. And, oh YEAH, they were cheap!! Here you would say they were about 400.000, in America that would be about 40 dollars!! Which my first glasses were about 160 dollars!! Whoa!!
  2. Last night, we got Nasi Kuning for dinner!! Which, if I haven't already told you, is my most favorite food here!! I LOVE it!! BTW, it means 'Yellow Rice'.
  3. I got 'I <3 Papua' shirt!! It's teal!! (Close enough to my favorite color, aquamarine!!

  • Bad Thing: ***sigh*** My dog, Phoebe, disappeared the other day. :( It's sooo sad, and she hasn't come back. What really ticks me is that Papuans will steal dogs so they can eat them. :',( Please pray I will adjust right now as we have no more dogs after having 3 (including Phoebe).

Well, we are having some friends over for dinner that just got back! That's exciting!! Happy you guys are back Mr. S, Mrs. L, Annie, Emily (same name as my sister!!), and Issac!!

May 2013 - Jr. High Youth Group

So I have youth group once a month with LOTS of other Jr. High kids. Like 40. Each month we do something different. To help people, just have fun, and play games. This month my mom and dad did it. Well, with help from Mr. D and Mrs. T. It was SO much fun!
Some of the older boys sat around and made bracelets INSTEAD of playing games. But others played. OH! I didn’t even tell you WHAT our youth group was about!
FRIENDSHIP
So we play outside with Indonesians/Papuans just about every day. SO we invited the Indonesians/Papuans to come play with “banyak teman-teman” (lots of friends). And then we told the normal Youth Group kids to come play games with us and the Indonesian/Papuans. We would play soccer and some other games.
The kids were supposed to come and we would exchange names, play games, and ‘hang-out’. It was pretty cool. It was not just ‘pretty cool’ it was AWESOME!! HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF WHAT WE DID!!
BUT FIRST, I’m going to tell a little story about what happened just a little before Youth Group started (like, an hour before)
SO the night before my Korean friend, Sue, spent the night. She is in 6th grade and is TOTALLY FUNNY! The next day was a barang sale at the International school here (‘barang’ means ‘stuff’:) SO we went there and then near the end, when we were about to leave, Sue said, “Can we bring Ruth?” Ruth is another Korean 6th grader. My mom said yes and Ruth’s mom said yes so she came home with us. Which was PERFECT! BECAUSE…
…I had this idea TO do Water Balloons. Who doesn’t like Water Balloons? Maybe someone. So at 2:25 pm, Ruth, Sue, and I started filling them and tying them. Sue was the only one of us that could TIE balloons so she got stuck with that job while Ruth and I filled. THEN, Mr. D, Mrs. T, and their load (they brought everyone who lived down their road) arrived. Sue, Ruth and I decided to trust Chaia, the only girl on the bus. SHE COULD TIE BALLOONS! Sue was SOOO happy. Then Alex arrived and she helped. Ok, we got REALLY WET. Especially Ruth. BUT IT WAS AWESOME!

Ruth and I filling water balloons

Fun picture of all of us- Sue, Ruth, me

Mrs. T explaining the name exchange game

Same thing

Girls starting their bracelets

Messin' around

'Hangin' out

The Indonesian girls (and boy) doing bracelets

Doing our 'pas-the-water-balloon-to-your-partner'
This was what we did with the water balloons, BTW, every expat with an Indonesian/Papuan

Whoops!

"GET ANOTHER ONE!"

Getting another water balloon

Trying to keep the balloons from dropping

People waiting to get a water balloon before the're all gone!

It turned into a water balloon fight, well, all except the 2 kids nearest the bushes

Listening to Mr. D, he did our devotion
This was a fun-filled day for everyone! Hope you enjoy these pictures!
