Lay Me Down & Indescribable

I love this song! =) And this one\/\/\/

A link up that was supposed to happen last Monday... and announcement

I know, I stink, and somehow I totally missed this at the end of Anne-girl's post. (?!?) But I'm doing it now! =D Also, next month you probably won't see too much of me because I'll be trying to get 50 hours of edits in on keep moving forward for DOOM. Your probably won't see me too much in April either because then we'll be rushing around packing and farwell-ing people etc. etc.! =) So now, onto the questions!

1. Do you think it's more important to listen to your characters or to follow the idea of the book as originally conceived?
I think that it is so very important to listen to your character's crazy ideas than to go with your normal one =)

2. If you could pick a fictional man to become alive and marry you who would you pick? {note: this is not asking whom you consider the greatest hero but whom you would be the most comfortable spending the rest of your life with}

Uhhhhh. Maybe maybe Nate Upchurch from a maid in fairbourne hall?

3.  What is your favorite protagonist and antagonist pair?

I have to think about that one... wow, I sure am not fantastic at this. Um, it probably has to be... Anya and Spencer from the new recruit by Jill Williamson

4. If you had to do without one of the following in your story which would it be?
 A. The Dark Moment when the hero is at rock bottom and can't do anything
 B. The Moment of Decision when the hero makes an actual goal and starts following it{leading thereby to the story itself}
C. The Resolution the reconciliation of the hero with his or her inner struggles and outer struggles

C.!!! I like doing A. and B.!!!

5. In modern fiction which genre do you think shows the most tendency toward good character development?

Maybe contemporary? I've read several books recently in that genre, they all did a fantastic job! =)

6. Have you ever "fallen for" the villain? {Note I do not mean thought he was a good gut but rather WISHED  he was the good guy and rooted for him}

Maybe a time or two. =)

7. Do you prefer writing about your protagonist or side characters?

Protagonist!! =)

8. What do you think is the most cliched and overdone character in fiction?

the three musketeers, I've read so many versions of this book... and for sure there are so many more!

9. Which do you think is more important, making your reader feel or making him think?

making the read feel is what i try to do =)

10.  And lastly what do you think are three most important elements to being a hero?

  • Strong will
  • Love
  • Courage
This was fun! =) Thanks Anne-girl! =D
Now. Today I am going to do something. =) And I will put the pictures up my tomorrow morning. If you don't see them, you have to think that the power went off, or that I couldn't get my mom to download them *winks* Gotta a deal?

Lay Me Down by Chris Tomlin

Verse 1:
With this heart open wide
From the depths from the heights
I will bring a sacrifice
With these hands lifted high
Hear my song hear my cry
I will bring a sacrifice
I will bring a sacrifice
Chorus:
I lay me down
Im not my own
I belong to you alone
Lay me down
Lay me down
Hand on my heart
This much is true
There's no life apart from you
Lay me down
Lay me down
Oh oh oh
Lay me down
Lay me down
Verse 2:
Letting go of my pride
Giving up all my rights
Take this life and let it shine
Take this life and let it shine
Chorus
Bridge:
It will be my joy to say
Your will
Your way
It will be my joy to say
Your will
Your way
It will be my joy to say
Your will
Your way
always
(x3)
Chorus
(x2)

Panther

Papua is beautiful, lovely, and wonderful. But it isn't always. And dogs never seem to last too long around here.

Panther is my black dog. My beautiful black dog that would be 10 months this month if February contained the 29th.
My beautiful dog had distemper. We think it started exactly five weeks ago from yesterday. At first it seemed to just be a hack, hack thing. And I wasn't too concerned. But when she seemed to get worse and worse, of course I got worried.
Then, a big knot formed on the side of her neck. It was very hard. A couple days later, I felt the knot and it was very soft, and throughout the day, it only got softer, I thought it was going down.
The next day, I went outside to feed them and couldn't find Panther. I called and searched. And searched some more. Nearly in tears, I looked around some more. Soon my dad came out, he started looking for her too.
But all of a sudden, there she was. Right there. I was very happy that she wasn't gone and wasn't dead. I raced over to her and started to pet her and coo over her. Then, a thought came to my mind: "Feel the knot,"
I reached over and my hand went straight into the wound. The two holes and the side of her neck. I was crying then. I raced inside and washed my hands while my mom and dad looked Panther over. My mom came back inside and said that she thought it was a good thing.
Days later, after washing it watching her, praying for her, squeezing the ooze out, my mom said that Margret's mom said that people get these things all over their bodies all the time in the village that they work in.
I asked them later if that was really true. Margret pointed out that often babies are covered in them. But they survive.
That put me in better moods than before. I was very happy. And then when I showed Panther to Margret, Panther actually started barking at my friend! Instead of telling her no, that they were our friends like I had always had to do before, I was petting her and telling Panther, "Good girl,".
For a couple more weeks she seemed to be getting better and better. I thought she was nearly better when she started to fight for her food again.
But then about a week ago she started to twitch. And not just some twitch every couple hours or whatever, it was two seconds between each twitch.
That's when I started to get scared for her life again.
And now, she can't walk straight. She doesn't move a ton. She doesn't bark. She doesn't even eat right. She can't even open her mouth right.
And yesterday morning, if I slid either hand under her stomach she moaned. I'm scared. She's not doing well. At. All.
Since moving to Papua I have had a total of five dogs, three are no longer with us (one died; the other two disappeared), and we only have two.
As I remember it, they were all so painful. Honestly, I didn't want to love the two dogs I have now. But who can refuse two adorable puppies that you've known since they were a day old? I'm the one that fed them and gave them water and raced with them. And it's most painful for me.
Now Panther doesn't even move when we come near. She can't drink or eat. Her muzzle just lays in her food.
So, my parents decided they would rather have her out to sleep than to watch her slowly slip away, suffering. Of course I think that this is better, but they're having it done today.
This afternoon, someone will come and take her away. Then, it'll be how we started, Brownie will be a loner. I'll only have to feed one dog at night. I'll only have one dog to tie up. I won't have to stay out there with them and make sure they don't kill each other over food. It's just going to be Brownie...
So, I was wondering if ya'll could pray for me--and my family. This already is very tough, and it's only going to get tougher when they take her away.

Monday's Minutes

*Click the photo to go to Tessa's post* =)

*BTW, I have some stinkin' Internet problem so i am not going to be posting a ton. =P Perhaps you'll be happy. ;) I am currently at a restraunt doing this and checking my email *grins* Now onto the point of this post =)*

I am doing 1-3 paragraphs starting with the sentance: When she called my name, I knew my life would never be the same again.

When she called my name, I knew my life would never be the same again. Her voice had that control over me, pulling me closer and closer. With each syllable, her words tightened around me, pulling me closer to my life that was about to change forever. But still I kept moving, one foot in front of the other.
"Baliey," she whispered my name, I lurched forward towards her, bowing instantly. What was I doing?
She repeated my name several times, other words--commands--coming after them. What was she telling me to do? All I could hear was her voice saying my name. Her voice capturing my mind in such a way, I heard nothing...

I really enjoyed doing that one! =D Thanks Tessa! =D
