MMC =)

MY POWER IS SO ANNOYING!!!! It seemed like it was off all night, but it came back on for an hour or two, then shut off again. then came back on again at about 9:30, then shut off again at 11:30, and came back AGAIN at about 12:15. annoying power....

SO. MMC (Monday's Minutes Challenge) is today! Yay! =D I won second place the week, and first the week before! =)

Today's entry involves this picture:
[via]
The staircase loomed in front of me. Had I really seen Jacinda climb them? Or had my mind been acting up again?
“Jacinda, dear little sister, where are you?” I called upward, as if I really thought she would have gone up. I rolled my eyes. “Little sister?”
I bit my lip, looking down at the stairs in front of me. I stepped on one, practically expecting it to be an illusion and falling face first into the muddy water.
I started to climb. My mind started to believe the staircase with each step. Each solid stair. The air around me whispered through my hair, but I paid no attention. I had to find Jacinda before Aunt Nola had to find me.
After what seemed to be hours of climbing stair after stair, I reached a platform. It was a whole world up here. I tried to look back at the way I had come, but there was no staircase. There was no lake that I could fall into. There was just green grass.
“Jacinda?” My voice was weaker than ever before.
“Lily!” Jacinda waved.
A smile of relief flooded my face, I ran towards her. But when I got there, I didn’t look at her. I stared upwards—at the castle that now loomed into front of me. Dark and cold. Built of stone—covered in moss.
“I found a door over there, Lily, perhaps someone lives there?” Jacinda shirked with excitement.
I followed her. The doors were open, I peeked inside.

Then quickly turned around and grabbed Jacinda. Pulling with each step. I heard the voices. I heard the footsteps. They were gaining on us.

REACH

You hold the weight of the world
Still I don't slip through your hands
Your love is bigger
Than just a notion built by man

I fall again and again
But You whisper, "You're still mine"
You feel the pain of the world
But You never push mine aside

And You reach for me
With a love that quiets all my fears
And You reach for me
Like a Father wipes away the tears

So many people in this world
But I hear You calling out my name
You reach for me
Now I'm never gonna be the same

You know all of my fears
There's nothing Your eyes can't see
When I tried to give up
Lord, You never gave up on me

I give You all of my hopes and dreams
I lay them down
Of all the place I've looked
You're the one truth I have found

And You reach for me
With a love that quiets all my fears
And You reach for me
Like a Father wipes away the tears

So many people in this world
But I hear You calling out my name
You reach for me
Now I'm never gonna be the same

You hold the weight of the world
Still I don't slip through Your hands
You put the stars in the sky
You know every grain of sand

But You reach for me
With a love that quiets all my fears
And You reach for me
Like a Father wipes away the tears

So many people in this world
But I hear You calling out my name
You reach for me
Now I'm never gonna be the same

You reach for me
For me

This is a great song that, you know, just kind of encourages you. =) Watch it. It's awesome. =)

MMC (11-3-14)

Hey everyone! =) I have two entries, my quote entry and my Pinterest entry. =) The first one is the quote entry, and the second is my Pinterest entry. =)

My entry based on this sentence: The noise woke me up right after I'd drifted off to sleep.

The noise woke me up right after I'd drifted off to sleep. I heard the front door creek. I smirked, and she didn’t think I could stay awake this late.
I tiptoed down the halls and counted to fifty before I opened the door and stepped outside into the crisp night air. Should’ve grabbed my quilt. I shrugged off the matter and peered into the darkness.
I saw a figure moving near the woods. “Ha,” was on the tip of my tongue when I felt cold fingers glide across my cheek and over my mouth. It happened all before I could scream.
The hand stayed clamped over my mouth as a blind fold slid over my eyes and closed me off.
I mumbled, if you could even call it that. I tried to call out to Trinity. My hands. They hadn’t tied them up—yet.
I tried to claw at the hand that was on my mouth. When I couldn’t budge it, my hands tried to loosen the cloth over my eyes.
But I was too late to do that; the hands grabbed mine and jerked them. Tears rose to my eyes. But I wouldn’t let them down.
I wish I could have bit my lip. Then the idea struck me. Biting. Biting. That could do it. I bit the hand that was on my mouth with as much force as possible.
The hand was gone for one instant, and I jumped at the opportunity, jerking my blind fold off. I ran to where I had seen Trinity.
But she was gone. And whoever was trying to get me was quickly closing in on me again. I looked over my shoulder, three guys. I ran into the woods, forgetting to scream—again.

My Pinterest Entry:

I looked down at the river, then back up at the big snowy mountains. The water was sure to be freezing. I glanced back down at it, catching a glimpse of my bright orange hair and bright blue eyes.
If only this was a normal day! One where Max could be here with me. To encourage me. To help me.
I sighed, he wasn't always the greatest little brother, but he was one of the best. In my mind, I hear is voice, "Jen, go on. After all it is for Mama and me... go on for us... please."
My life never went as planned, and that's ok. I'm used to it.
I bit my lip, then stepped into the water. After all, cold water can't do much to me... can it?

What I Ate

*PLEASE READ THIS POST AND PLEASE DO NOT PUKE*

*laughs* I'm not sure you really want to know. But, I'll tell you the story behind it LOL

Yesterday (my Saturday) afternoon was Youth Group. And we were split into teams to do four different challenges--two mind, one physical, and one food.

The mind challenges were kinds hard, they were the ones that my team did first. My team had five people (including myself) and we had to get across about 30 feet of land on four boards. Doesn't sound too hard right? Well, read that again we only had four boards. And there were five people. So we had to keep them moving up.

Another hard part was that the leader of my team got his mouth taped shut. And I got blindfolded. Just to make it a little extra hard. *winks* We only made it about half way with falling on the ground twice (did i mention that we weren't allowed to touch the ground???) It was kinda hard...

Then the next mind challenge we had was 10 or 20 questions about Papua. They were hard I didn't know anyone of them--except that Papua used to be called Irian Jaya, and we all got that the first time.

Then the third challenge was the food one. It was my all time favorite. =) *grins* You'll find out what I ate sooner or later (later...)

Just two things, before we were doing the food challenge someone shouted how disgusting it was. The only other girl that was on my time said that we had to be eating papeda--she said that she could eat it because she loves it plain. I might have grossed out there for a moment. And the other thing is that before he gave the food to us, Mr. B said that everything he fed us could be bought locally in our town.

So of course we were all like, "Oh, well then it can't be that bad,". Then Mr. B said our team had one knife and one fork and only one of us could eat the food or all of us. The only other girl on my team decided that we all were gonna eat it.

We received the food, if you could call it that. All of us started eating it with our hands (you know, Indonesian Style =) ) except one guy, he got the fork and knife.

Oops, I forgot one thing, we either got to see what were eating before or after. We decided after. (good thing too)

The first thing we ate looked like a piece of chicken and tofu mixed together. We ate it all and decided that it was pretty good.

Then we moved onto something that looked satéd. It was ok, but not totally great like the last thing had been.

The last thing we ate was this big hunk of stuff that looked like cartilage. Neither was that fantastic, but I ate about 2/3 of it because the three boys on my team grossed out and wouldn't eat anymore.

BUT. Before I finished eating the cartilage stuff, we all decided we wanted to know what it was. Here's the list Mr. B showed us.

  • Cow Foot Tendons
  • Chicken Liver
  • Cow Brain
Of course we all kind of grossed out then. But then I got back down on my knees--mind that I still didn't know what I was eating, I just knew that it was one of those three--and I finished eating what I could of the cartilage stuff.

Now, let me tell you which was which. *grins*

  • Cartilage Stuff = Cow Foot Tendons
  • Satéd stuff = Chicken Liver
  • My favorite, and the *raw chicken* of which someone thought it was = COW BRAIN
The next team decided to find out what it was BEFORE they ate it. None of them would TOUCH the food.

Another thing, my team was the only team to finish eating the entire plate of food.

The physical thing we did is too complicated to explain. But anyway, I just really wanted to share what I ate. =)

Oh, another thing. One team (i think the first one to do the food challenge) I'm pretty sure they found out what i was before they ate it, but they actually ate some of it. Because one guy on the team said he felt like a zombie eating the brains. It was like the best thing said about the food the entire afternoon. *grins*

I may have a picture of me eating the tendons later. I know Mr. B took one of me and he said that he had to get it to my dad.

Isn't it wonderful to know that everything I ate could be bought locally? I wanted to take the extra cow brains home, but I don't think there was any. =( Either that or Mr. B disposed of them. =(

SO, in less than two weeks I have eaten papeda, cow foot tendons, cow brain, and chicken liver. =)

that's all, i have to go now...

Do you know which one it is? I literally wear it like every other day...

Really? I didn't know that...

Maybe a little too much? Ok, I say those two words WAY too much...
Those are some things about me. =)

More Happenings in January

OK, ya'll already saw this. BUT, my friend who owns it asked if I could pet sit it while she goes to the beach for five days. And i have it right now! It's quite fascinating...

For Buzz's extra late b-day party, we went to the waterfall with his two best buds' families (plus Margret's)
In ten years, my mom and the buds' moms plan on redoing this picture *grins* how great is that gonna be????

In January we welcomed back five families that went to visit their home countries. (The family that we greeted in the picture are John's friends. but we all know them) The family of which is in the picture (ha, that's actually just the younger son) arrived an hour and a half later than they were supposed to. But neither son believed me. = |
Anyway, that was some more of what happened in January (and now...) =)

MMC

WHOOP MY INTERNET IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D I'm super happy! =)

So this is my extra late MMC (Monday's Minutes Challenge) entry. =) I'm just doing the sentence prompt. =) (and if you're wondering... yes, this is related to my last MMC prompt. It will all be in the same book some day... =) (hopefully))

“There is nothing you could say that would make me change my mind.” Anger flooded my mind. She looked at me so long her eyes seemed to have attached to my skin.
“You are one sad soul, my lady.”
I dug my fingers into my upper arms, “Leave. Now.”
“As you wish, my lady,” the woman bowed and turned on her heel.
I watched her go, her steps seemed hurried. When she opened the door, it seemed to me as if I heard the slightest scream from outside. But I pushed aside what I had heard and stood up.
“Guards,” I clapped three times, in moments my men stood in front of me, “Dispose of everyone who is against me, my laws, and what I have set up in this kingdom of mine.”
Hundreds of men looked at each other from the corner of their eyes, but none dared move.
“Go on with you then,” I turned to walk towards the side door that led to my room.
They still stood there when I left. But I paid no attention to that either.
Instead, I looked into the mirror on the wall of my room. My beautiful black hair curled down my back, below my waist. The crown was still high upon my head. The red dress went well with my pale skin.
Shouts from below. I swore at the sounds. I rolled my eyes before returning to my throne room.
All of the peasants of my kingdom stood in the room—staring at me.
“Yes?” I questioned the people.
“Queen of the dark! Queen of the dark is all you’ll ever be!” the children taunted.

The woman’s words flashed through my mind, ‘They’ll come for you sooner or later, change, my lady, change.’

Hope you like it! =D
