/Living Fully By Faith/: He has risen!
Easter Indonesian Style
3:00 AM: I wake up to singing from the streets. TONS, litteraly, TONS of Indonesians from churches singing praises (I think)! It was AWESOME though it woke me at 3:00 am. :)
About 11:00 AM: Right after church a group photo.
Just the kids (in our back yard)
With our mom.

HE IS RISEN!
MORE THAN 2000 YEARS AGO JESUS CHRIST WAS PLACED IN A MANGER. NO, NOT A BABY BED, A MANGER. THEN ABOUT 33 YEARS LATER, AFTER LIVING A BLAMELESS LIFE, HE WAS HUNG ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS. THERE HE DIED. A GUY NAMED JOSEPH ASKED FOR HIS BODY. THE BODY WAS GIVEN TO HIM. HE PLACED JESUS'S BODY IN HIS TOMB THAT HE HAD MADE. GUARDS SEALED THE TOMB AND STAYED. 3 DAY LATER THERE WAS AN EARTHQUAKE. THE GUARDS FELL AS IF ASLEEP. AND JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD!!!!
AND RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND HE IS SITTING IN GOD'S RIGHT HAND, WAITING.
HAPPY EASTER!!!

Pak Lely's House
Pak Lely's House
So very very sorry that there have not been any posts lately! I hope to get more on here soon!
Before we moved into Pak Lely’s house, we lived in a neighborhood called Pita Loka for 2 weeks. But Pak Lely’s house is the best house we have ever lived in! What you see in the picture is the part we lived in. Our Landlord lives in the same house, but they had a piece of wood over the door that separated our part from theirs.

Pak Lely’s wife’s name is Ibu Bedah. They have four kids. Their oldest son is Obi`17; their only daughter is Lusi (Lucy) 14, their youngest sons are Rizal 11 and Rendi (Randy) 9. We loved playing with these guys.
Kids arrived home from school. Rizal is in the white shirt and Ibu Reni (Ibu Bedah’s sister-in-law who also lives next door) is in the yellow shirt.

All the kids could speak some English. Obi, Lusi, and Rizal could speak English very well compared to their parents who couldn’t speak any. Rendi could speak a couple of words.
This is our first visit to the house. I (Lindsay) am in the pink shirt. Emily is in the green shirt with blonde hair. MR.Z (our expat friend) is in the navy blue shirt. Ibu Bedah is in the green shirt, Grandpa Haji is in the blue shirt, and Grandma Haji is in the dress. Grandpa and Grandma Haji are Ibu Bedah’s parents. They live next door.
We were playing soccer, Bandung’s
favorite sport. They played it every day unless it rained. Sometimes they would play marbles or fly kites depending the season.

Rendi is walking in the water. Rizal is the one smiling at the camera. San-san and Kaka (cousins from next door) are next to Rizal. Buzz is watching.
The boys are catching tiny fish!
Jenny sees something! (I don’t know what.)

Walking in the Sawah!?!?!?
Today (August 13) we were going on a walk to watch the sun set. We were going to walk on the road, but Daddy asked Pak Lely (Mr. Lay-lee) if we could walk in the sawah (rice field.) Pak Lely said:” Boleh! Silahkan! Tapi itu akan sulit dan Anda mungkin akan jatuh.” Which means: “You may! Please! But it will be hard and ya’ll will probably fall.” SO we walked in the sawah. Which all the kids were exited! We all loved to walk in the sawah. All the kids did anyway. But then we had to get out because Daddy wanted to go the other way. On the road. :) When we passed one family’s house, their chickens were in the tree!!
We (the kids) asked if we could walk all the way home in the sawah, but Daddy said no because there were probably snakes cuz it hasn’t been bothered in a long time. But we got back in the sawah earlier than we got out. Then when we got back, Pak Lely’s son, Rizal asked Daddy: “Jalan-jalan di sawah?” Which means: “Walking in the sawah?”
